Artist & Designer Shari Warren

As an artist and illustrator living in the Northern California, it has been my life long passion to create artwork that makes people smile. I use a variety of media, both traditional and digital, to create my work and love to experiment with different artistic techniques. That said, all of my artwork begins with good old fashioned pencil and paper. My professional background is in the publishing and software industries working as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Art Director. Today, I devote my career to staying up on current consumer trends and creating art collections for consumer products that I hope people will enjoy and buy.

I love shopping for Fab Finds (Hey, it’s Trend Research!), spending time with family and friends, and watching some of my favorite shows such as Project Runway, Chopped, Shark Tank and the Profit with Marcus Lemonis.  My other activities include wine tasting, shooting photography and volunteering in my community.

I am truly honored to be teaching my classes, “Illustration for Consumer Products and Licensing”, in the Illustration School at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. In this business and portfolio development class, my students learn how to research the retail market, identify current trends to create original art collections for licensing to companies, create a professional portfolio website and marketing materials, and learn about art business basics.

Every semester, I enjoy teaching such talented and creative students and preparing them for their own careers in art and illustration. I have even had some students take my class twice to continue building their portfolio pieces. It is my passion to help my students develop professional illustrations in their own unique art styles and to be "business saavy". It is my requirement that my students have fun and laugh at all my jokes, to get a passing grade! LOL  :-)

I have always shot my own photo reference for inspiration to create a new painting or illustration. Over time, I have fallen in love with photography as it's own art form and try shoot almost every day. I call my shooting obsession my "Photos du Jour". Photography has become my passion, and I love to capture images of all themes and subjects. I hope you will enjoy what I see and share through my camera lens. 

I love to shoot many subjects such from classic cars, cool retro signs, textures, vineyards, animals and other eye-catching images. You can purchase my images as prints on paper and canvas, and on a variety of merchandise. Images are also available for licensing for custom products, publishing, blogs and other editorial or promotional uses.

Helping other creative professionals, such as photographers, illustrators and artists start and grow their businesses is my other passion. In my online website design business, Warren Creative Design, I help customers with their website design, portfolio gallery presentation, content organization and general business planning. My services are personal to each individual customer.  My personal design and business consultation services include Premium Service Packages, Custom Graphics and Training.
